After finishing two-year study in BNUZ University, as a student of 2+2 program, I was recruited by our cooperative university in Australia, Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. When I just arrived at Melbourne, I felt both excited and nervous because I had few experiences in living abroad.
My Accommodation in Melbourne

In terms of accommodation, I entrust a Chinese leasing agency to rent an apartment for me for the first one year. The apartment rental contract was signed online with the help of the agent and it took place one week before my arrival. Therefore, I could settle down at the first day of arrival. However, my roommates and I was not satisfied with the apartment because of its poor design and small scale. So, it is important to have a look at the living environment of the apartment you are interested in on site rather than looking at its pictures on the website.
My Study in RMIT

Studying abroad is not easy. Compared with domestic universities, the studying tasks in RMIT tend to be more challenging and practical. Firstly, language is considered as the biggest challenge. For the assignments, I need to seek for the information I want from some academic articles consisted of a significantly large number of words on the website. Understanding what my lecturers say in classes is also difficult, especially when the lecturers have different accents. Further, the teaching mode is different from that in
China
. Specifically, the ‘tutorial mode’ can be an impressive and special teaching way here. In the tutorial mode, there is no lecturer speaking on the rostrum. Instead, students get together to discuss the given topics and try to work out a solution in the team.
My Living in Melbourne

The third part I want to share is about daily living. As for eating, my suggestion is: cook by yourself because it is the cheapest way to have meals and it can help you to improve your cooking skills. The local people are good at making wine and the local wine is so tasty that you might want to try them again and again. In the issue of traveling, you can download some convenient Apps on your phones, such as ‘Uber’,‘PTV’ and ‘Google maps’, which are very useful. Of course, you can buy a relatively cheap second-hand car here if you have sufficient money. For the healthcare, the health care products in
Australia
are in high quality but have cheap prices.
